Lei Xiao contemplated briefly. He took out the printed copies of Huo Yao’s work and read it a few more times. Before long, he finally had a better understanding of it.
However, he was not entirely sure if these files from the storeroom would be any use to him yet.
Lei Xiao did not linger in the storeroom. He quickly took the files and headed downstairs.
The moment he walked into the hall, he encountered another colleague who had just finished doing overtime and was preparing to leave.
“Xiao, didn’t you leave ages ago?” asked Lei Xiao’s colleague quizzically.
Since it was taboo to research radiation at the institute, Lei Xiao said nothing and simply said, “I came back to check on something.”
His colleague briefly glanced at the files in Lei Xiao’s hand before veering his eyes. He stuck his thumb up at Lei Xiao and responded. “You are undoubtedly dedicated.”
Lei Xiao smiled. “See you around.”
The moment he finished his sentence, he left the research institute.
His colleague shook his head as he watched Lei Xiao leave in a hurry before slowly walking out as well.

The next day.
Liu Qian asked Huo Yao to see him in his office.
When Huo Yao got there, there were three other people present in the office and they were all seniors in Bioinformatics.
“Dai Jie, here are the research plans. Why don’t you check it out first?” Liu Qian was talking to the students when he raised his head and saw Huo Yao. He handed the research plans to Dai Jie and waved at Huo Yao.
“Hi, Mr. Liu.” Huo Yao walked over and nodded slightly.
Liu Qian acknowledged her softly before he smiled and introduced her. “This is Huo Yao. Even though she is a freshman, she is very good at Bioinformatics.”
Dai Jie raised his head. The moment he saw Huo Yao for the first time, he was briefly stunned. He did not expect such a stunning beauty to be present among the freshmen this year.
After Dai Jie gathered his thoughts, he nodded at Huo Yao courteously. “Nice to meet you. I am Dai Jie.”
The two other people inside the room were fourth year students doing their PhD called Tang Jun and Wang Jing.
The two of them also introduced themselves one after another enthusiastically. They did not look down on Huo Yao simply because she was a freshman.
Although there were very few students taking Bioinformatics, the division was very united. Moreover, Liu Qian had already vouched for Huo Yao’s talent, and they trusted him implicitly.
Also, it had been years since the division was involved in any new research project. It was impossible for Liu Qian to invite someone without the necessary skills to join the research team.
Dai Jie, Tang Jun and Wang Jing naturally knew this.
Liu Qian felt relieved when he saw that everyone was getting along so well.
Initially, he was genuinely worried about whom to select for the research project. After all, these were the best Bioinformatics students he had. If they had to teach a freshman from scratch, it was only natural for them to feel uncomfortable about it.
From the looks of it, he was overthinking it.
“Why don’t you familiarize yourselves with the research plan for now? I need to go upstairs and speak to Mr. Qi,” said Liu Qian and retrieved a request form from the drawer.
He hurriedly left the office.
Dai Jie went quiet for a couple of seconds as he watched the teacher leave before finally shifting his eyes. He looked at Wang Jing and the others and gestured for everyone to take a seat.
“Why don’t we check out the research plan?” said Dai Jie and handed them copies of the research plan.
Huo Yao was briefly stunned when she saw the cover page of the documents which Dai Jie had just handed her. She did not understand what was going on. Didn’t Mr. Liu call her over to see her?
She did not quite understand what she was doing here.
