Rowena's knees brushed against Raphael's groin and she ended up gulping as she felt his manhood. "Raphael…?"
"What is it, Rowena?" Raphael looked down at his wife.
"Uh…did you get bigger?" Rowena kept her eyes shut. "I… I'm kind of worried if you uh, well, now that you have a different… uhm… appearance?"
Raphael blinked. They were so close to doing it, but she still had her reservations. He cleared his throat. "I don't think that happened."
"Are you sure?" Rowena licked her lips nervously. She wanted to see it just to be sure and safe. There were a lot of changes to Raphael's body that she needed to see if she could accommodate.
"Yes." Raphael clicked his tongue as he felt a bit impatient.
Rowena decided to take a peek and the entire mood suddenly disappeared as she saw his demonic body. It was too scary and she was afraid that she would break if they did it.
She ended up shaking her head. "Raphael… I-I… I can't do it."
Raphael stared at his wife, and slowly got off of her. "I understand."
He felt so bad because they were this close to breaking the spell, but he failed. If only he could tell Rowena what happened, things would be so much easier.
But then… it wouldn't be a test if it did.
"Do you want to have dinner?" he got up from on top of her and ruffled her hair, trying to make light of the situation. Rowena nodded weakly. She fixed her clothes and looked at Raphael apologetically.
"I'm sorry…" she muttered.
Raphael faked a smile and shrugged. "It's alright, wifey. We can try some other time."
He hoped they could try again before the two weeks passed.
***
There was a banquet in Cretea to celebrate the king's birthday. All the royalties and nobles were invited. Raphael decided to make it an excuse to take Rowena out of their home, so she could have a change of scenery. She had been cooped up at home for a long time now.
The banquet was festive. The guests came with beautiful dresses and tunics. The food was sumptuous and the wine was the best anyone had ever tasted, as expected of the king of Cretea's banquet.
Raphael sat down with Rowena and feasted, talked, and mingled among the other gods and celebrated.
"The God of Archery is holding a tournament!" Somebody announced.
"Is it an archery contest?" a god groaned. "No one can defeat him, so it's unfair anyway."
"He will not participate himself, but wants to throw in one of his prized bows as a prize."
Raphael glanced at Rowena and nudged her. "Do you want to join in?"
"I… I'm not sure." Rowena held on to her goblet uneasily. "Will it be fine?"
"You're an excellent archer, Rowena. I'm sure they'll enjoy having you there."
Rowena dreaded interacting with other people in Cretea and participating in such events, but she saw how Raphael seemed eager to see her open up and mingle with others. She couldn't let him down.
"Well, okay." Rowena nodded at Raphael and faked a smile. "Let's go."
Many of the gods and goddesses all stood up to participate or to watch the archery contest, unaware that one goddess stayed behind. Unbeknownst to them, Nymia pulled out a small bottle from her robes and poured something into Rowena's drink.
She couldn't believe that Rowena was still holding out strongly after weeks of getting a small dose of Lilith's potion she decided to add another dose.
Maybe the servant didn't job her job well. Or maybe the dosage was too little to show effect. This time Nymia decided to take matters into her own hands.
"If you've managed to stay here even after what you drank, let us see if this won't make everyone see your true nature," Nymia muttered to herself.
As Raphael expected, Rowena did well in the first round of the archery contest. As other gods and goddesses also aimed to win the chance for the next round, Rowena was a little breathless and she wiped the sweat off her brows.
"Are you alright?" Raphael asked.
"I think I'll just take a quick drink before the next round," Rowena told him and then returned to the banquet table. She grabbed her goblet and took a happy sip of her drink. She felt fresh for a good one minute, but then she felt sudden dizziness overcome her.
Everything turned black for a moment, but when Rowena opened her eyes again, all she could see was a terrible wasteland and countless monsters before her.
Rowena ended up attacking the other gods.
It was a disaster for everyone at the banquet.
Nymia sat in her chair and simply watched Rowena wreak havoc, as the laughter of the gods and goddesses turned into horror.
Why was Rowena attacking them? It didn't make any sense.
Many of the gods and goddesses started to get upset at her behavior.
One of the more impatient gods actually started to form a fireball to attack Rowena and stop her from attacking everyone but held back because the Seventh Prince was around.
Raphael immediately stepped forward and stopped his wife from hurting the others. He dodged the arrows from flying everywhere and caught her.
"Rowena, it's me."
His voice didn't reach her at that moment. All that Rowena could see and even hear right now were the hideous monsters that were out to get her. Voices were starting to sound everywhere and taunted her.
"Stay away!" Rowena shouted at him and started to move away to get a better vantage point.
Raphael hugged Rowena and threw the bow away. "Rowena, Rowena. It's Raphael. I'm here."
He used his beneficial and healing magic to soothe her and watched his wife calm down and stop writhing in his grasp.
"I…I…" Rowena's vision flickered and the haunted voices vanished for a moment, and she finally came face to face with the demon version of Raphael.. It didn't matter to her right now and she buried her face into his chest.
