How could she have never noticed before that Wei Zhiqian was such a wolf in disguise?
“My sweet Momo, ” Wei Zhiqian muttered and kissed the corner of her lips again. “How very sweet you are.”
Tan Mo gruntled softly, helpless against Wei Zhiqian’s flirtations.
She felt herself slowly succumbing to him.
Wei Zhiqian inhaled deeply, unwilling to let go of Tan Mo, so he held onto her.
Carrying her in his arms, he walked right out the door.
Overwhelmed with embarrassment, Tan Mo buried her face against his shoulders, “Let me down.”
“Everyone’s gone to work, so we won’t meet anyone.” Wei Zhiqian knew what Tan Mo was worried about.
Tan Mo could not argue with him.
Fortunately, there really was no one in the elevator.
Tan Mo was carried all the way to the car by Wei Zhiqian, and only then did he let go of her.
Without waiting for Tan Mo to help herself, Wei Zhiqian leaned into the passenger seat and fastened her seat belt for her.
With his body so closed to hers, he casually kissed her on the lips again.
Ever since this morning, after the status of their relationship had changed…
Wei Zhiqian had not let even the slightest opportunity pass him by. He kissed Tan Mo every chance he could get.
Fortunately, this neighborhood was just right next to Beijing University.
It was only a 10-minute walk and merely a two-minute drive away.
Finally, just five minutes before class, she arrived at the gate of Beijing University.
Tan Mo saw that she was about to be late for class, so she didn’t have time to say a proper goodbye to Wei Zhiqian. She quickly hopped out of the car and ran all the way to her classroom.
Just as Tan Mo entered the classroom, the school bell rang.
The lecture hall was fully packed.
Tan Mo wondered, ‘Is it because I came too late?’
As soon as she entered the door, everyone’s eyes were on her.
Although Tan Mo had always attracted much attention at Beijing University, it was still uncomfortable to be watched by so many people all at once.
“Tan Mo!”
Tan Mo heard someone calling and looked over to see Jin Yuelin beckoning to her.
Meng Yuxi was sitting next to Jin Yuelin.
On the other side was a vacant seat.
It was reserved just for Tan Mo.
Tan Mo breathed a sigh of relief and quickly walked over.
After sitting down, she finally felt at ease.
“Tan Mo, you…” Jin Yuelin stopped midway.
“What’s wrong?” Tan Mo was puzzled.
Why did Meng Yuxi have such an uneasy look on her face, seeming as though she could barely express herself?
“Tan Mo, are you in love?” Meng Yuxi asked in a low voice.
“Why would you say that?” Were the words “I’m in love” written on her forehead?
Had he put a stamp, marking those words on her face while she was not paying attention?
“Your lips,” Jin Yuelin whispered. “They’re swollen. And…”
Jin Yuelin couldn’t finish her sentence and began to rummage through her bag.
After digging around for a bit, she took out a pocket mirror from her bag and handed it to Tan Mo. “It’s better if you saw for yourself.”
Tan Mo flipped open the mirror and looked down at her face.
She gasped at her reflection.
Not just her mouth but her whole face was rosy like the shade of cherry blossoms, and her eyes glowed charmingly like they were kissed by a spring breeze.
Although the three words “I’m in love” were not actually written on her face, it was clear as day.
Her lips were not covered in lipstick, but they were completely red. Her lips looked flushed with blood and even slightly swollen.
What was harder to miss was the faint bite mark on her lower lip.
That love bite was obviously all thanks to Wei Zhiqian.
“No… No, I gave myself that bite mark,” Tan Mo explained in a soft voice. “I drank some Rio last night. It was my first time drinking. I didn’t think I would get drunk from just that, so that’s how my lips ended up swollen too.”
Although that wasn’t exactly the truth, it was indeed an indirect factor.
It was all because she had gotten drunk from the cocktail that it made her break down in tears hugging Wei Zhiqian, which eventually led to them sleeping in each other’s arms.
Because she was drunk, Wei Zhiqian got the chance to confess his feelings, which he then gave her that love bite.
Jin Yuelin and Meng Yuxi wondered simultaneously, ‘Can getting drunk actually cause lips to swell up like that?’
However, there was no study proving that it could not.
So, they just took Tan Mo’s word for it.
Although, the two of them still had their doubts.
Right then, the professor walked in.
They all stopped chatting.
Tan Mo quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
At least, she had managed to bluff her way through.
The truth was, she wasn’t deliberately trying to hide this from Jin Yuelin and Meng Yuxi.
Tan Mo knew that neither Jin Yuelin nor Meng Yuxi was the type to go around telling everybody.
The three of them shared the same dorm. She couldn’t hide it from them forever, especially if she were to talk to Wei Zhiqian on the phone.
It was just that they were in a room full of people.
If she were to tell Meng Yuxi and Jin Yuelin now, everyone would hear them.
It’d be bad if any word of it ever got back to her family.
She hadn’t even got the chance to warm her family up to the idea of her dating Wei Zhiqian.
By the end of class, Tan Mo’s lips had returned to normal.
But of course, the bite mark left by Wei Zhiqian was still there.
Because Tan Mo didn’t have time to go back to the dormitory earlier that morning, she was still in the same outfit as she came in this morning.
She had a bag on her shoulder and a laptop in her hands.
As soon as she walked out of the lecture block, she ran into Wei Keli.
When Wei Keli saw Tan Mo, he was taken aback.
The moment he saw Tan Mo, Wei Keli suddenly realized that he hadn’t seen Tan Mo for a long time.
The last time they had met was at the Hot Spring Villa because of her situation with Yuan Keqing.
Later in school, he had also called Tan Mo several times to explain himself to her.
Tan Mo’s reaction toward him remained unchanged.
She was not even angry that he was close to Yuan Keqing.
At that time, he began to wonder.
Did it not matter to Tan Mo at all whoever he was close to?
Tan Mo was not the least bit flustered by him.
Explaining himself to Tan Mo was like punching on cotton.
Because Tan Mo was not all angry, his explanation felt meaningless.
So, there was no need for him to explain further.
Why should he bother explaining if she wasn’t even angry?
Soon after that, Tan Mo had gotten very busy.
She was nowhere in sight for days.
He couldn’t find her anywhere.
That was until today, at this very moment.
After seeing Tan Mo again, Wei Keli suddenly remembered his frustration.
Wei Keli was stunned by the sight of Tan Mo.
He had always known that Tan Mo was beautiful.
Otherwise, he would not have been so keen on the thought of marrying her despite her proud and uncompromising attitude.
Besides the fact that she was from the Tan family, the only other thing that captivated him was her beauty.
Still, he had always felt that Tan Mo was a beauty but a bore to be with.
She was absolutely gorgeous. So gorgeous that she looked almost surreal.
But she was also boringly gorgeous…
Unlike Qin Murong, who had an air of maturity to her.
She was also unlike Yuan Keqing, who was like a lily out of water or a pear blossom in the rain, so pitifully intriguing.
Tan Mo was simply pretty but boring.
Over time, he might have even found her a little too bland and eventually lose interest in her.
But now, suddenly running into Tan Mo, Wei Keli was surprised to find Tan Mo’s beauty so overwhelming that it moved his heart.
Her cheeks bloomed like a cherry blossom. Her eyes and smile had a poised and elegant flair.
The pinkish glow in the corner of her eyes seemed almost like a cherry blossom petal had imprinted on her.
The way her gaze swept across him, he found it impossible to peel his eyes away from her.
“Momo!” Wei Keli immediately shouted her name out loud.
Wei Keli never knew the meaning of the word shy.
Even if he had overturned countless cars right in front of Tan Mo, he could still regain his composure within a blink of an eye.
