Tan Mo never expected that she would fall in the bathroom and embarrass herself like that.
The earbuds were on the bedside table the whole night without being used by her, even though she had prepared them beforehand.
Now, Tan Mo put the earbuds on and played the voice message that Wei Zhiqian had just sent to her.
She kept replaying the audio, especially the moment when Wei Zhiqian called her a lazy bum.
The more Tan Mo listened to it, the more excited she got.
She hopped off the bed and changed into new clothes. She then headed into the bathroom. As she brushed her teeth, she went on and recorded the voice message.
Since there was no way to directly save the voice message through the messaging app, Tan Mo decided to record the screen of her phone and play the voice message.
That worked well as the screen recording function could record the audio as well.
She edited the video and trimmed out the rest of the voice message, leaving only the moment where the man called her a lazy bum and saved it.
After she had cleaned herself up, there was still half an hour before their food arrived.
She decided to pack her stuff and checked the whole room to make sure she didn’t leave anything behind. After making sure that she had everything, she dragged her suitcase out of the room.
Tan Mo had planned to leave the suitcase in Wei Zhiqian’s room so that she didn’t have to come back and get it later.
She walked to the next room and pressed on the doorbell.
It didn’t even take a few seconds for Wei Zhiqian to open the door.
Instead of greeting the man, Tan Mo waited outside with her head down as if she was ashamed. Even her ears were totally red from embarrassment.
Wei Zhiqian noticed the suitcase behind Tan Mo and that she had lowered her head, reluctant to bring them up to look at him.
Wei Zhiqian raised his hand and gently patted her head. “What’s wrong? Why does it look like you’ve done something wrong?”
He thought about it but couldn’t think of anything that Tan Mo had done wrong recently.
“It was so embarrassing last night…” Tan Mo mumbled.
No matter how low her voice was, Wei Zhiqian could still hear it.
“How was it embarrassing?” The man was confused.
“I fell in the bathroom! My image is ruined!” Tan Mo still wanted to be the noble-like angel in her uncle’s heart.
“Who said that?” Wei Zhiqian’s hand slowly reached from her hair to her face.
Her tiny face made it seem like the man had a huge hand.
His palm could easily cover half her face.
Wei Zhiqian gently rubbed Tan Mo’s cheek with his thumb. He could feel how soft and bouncy her face was.
He didn’t put any strength into his hand and slowly lifted Tan Mo’s head.
The man stared directly into her eyes.
Tan Mo’s eyes moved a little as if they were ripples formed by a pebble being dropped into a puddle of water.
Wei Zhiqian’s wondered if he was being too crude as the lady’s face was starting to get red and hot.
“All I saw last night was a little angel,” Wei Zhiqian whispered. “She had a faint aroma to her. It was as if she was the pure but seductive angel that could easily trick any man.”
When Tan Mo heard that, her heart immediately skipped a beat.
She gasped so hard that she almost sucked all the air out of her lungs.
His words caused another wave of emotion inside of her. The wave was getting bigger and bigger as time went on.
“Uncle?” If the person who said that wasn’t Wei Zhiqian, she would’ve thought that the person was flirting with her.
Yet, the person in front of her was her uncle.
She believed that he was just comforting her by praising her that she was charming and beautiful, that her falling in the bathroom wasn’t embarrassing at all.
Wei Zhiqian gulped a couple of times before letting go of Tan Mo’s face and grabbing her suitcase from her. “Come on in. No matter what state you’re in, you’ll always be gorgeous in my eyes.”
The man turned around and walked into his room with Tan Mo following behind him.
The lady’s face was still completely red.
The décor in Wei Zhiqian’s room was pretty much the same as Tan Mo’s. The only difference was that the bathroom in his room was on the left while her’s was on the right.
That was why they were only separated by a thin wall when they showered the night before.
The other difference was that Tan Mo’s room had two single beds while Wei Zhiqian’s room had one king-sized bed.
The man’s room was much tidier than what Tan Mo had envisioned.
Although the bed wasn’t made, only half of the bed was used while the other half remained untouched.
It seemed like Wei Zhiqian had quite a stiff sleep the night before where he didn’t dare to move at all.
Other than that, there wasn’t the usual smell that a hotel room would get after hosting guests. Instead, the air was filled with the faint aroma of Wei Zhiqian’s cologne.
“Have you finished packing your stuff?” Tan Mo asked.
“I did,” he replied and rested the lady’s suitcase next to his. “We should leave after we have our lunch.”
As they waited, Tan Mo looked around the room since she was bored.
The tables in the room were super clean. Not even a piece of trash could be found lying around.
Other than the half of the bed that was used and the suitcases, one would never think that the room was used before.
His room was way tidier than hers.
“Have a seat somewhere. We still have to wait around 15 minutes before the food arrives,” Wei Zhiqian said after checking his phone.
When he noticed Tan Mo was about to sit on the couch, he quickly stopped her. “Don’t sit there!”
“Why?” Tan Mo asked curiously as she didn’t see anything on the couch.
“The couches in these hotels are usually dirty. Who knows what other guests have done with it? I am sure that some even stepped on it with their shoes still on.” Wei Zhiqian frowned. “There might even be kids jumping on it or people eating there. These cloth couches aren’t easy to clean. Some hotels don’t even clean them once a year.”
After hearing Wei Zhiqian’s explanation, Tan Mo immediately jumped away from the couch.
She looked at the chair by the table and realized its cushion was also made from the same cloth material as the couch.
If what Wei Zhiqian said was true, then she shouldn’t sit on there either.
Yet, there was no other place for her to sit.
“Just sit on the bed,” Wei Zhiqian said as he pointed at the bed.
Tan Mo’s eyes widened when she heard his suggestion.
“The sheets and blankets are cleaned regularly. I’m pretty sure they are clean,” Wei Zhiqian said. “I only slept on the right side of the bed the last night, so the left side is still untouched and clean.”
“T-that’s not what I mean…” Tan Mo quickly shook her hands. There was no way she would think that Wei Zhiqian was dirty. “But isn’t it a bad idea to sit on the same bed with you?”
She couldn’t help but think of something she shouldn’t have.
The thought of what could happen made her body even hotter, to the point where her nose was about to bleed.
“What’s wrong with that?” Wei Zhiqian laughed. “It’s not like we’ve never slept on the same bed before.”
