After a while, Wen Cheng arrived with Cai Qinyue and Wen Ruo.
Wen Ruo lowered her head. She did not dare to look directly at Jian Yuncheng.
The fact that Jian Yuncheng was seated at his desk with a serious expression on his face made Wen Ruo feel even more guilty.
After entering, Wen Cheng asked Jian Yuncheng with an apologetic expression on his face: “Yuncheng, where is your mother?”
Jian Yuncheng replied with an indifferent tone: “I will be responsible for this matter. Therefore, if you have anything to say, just tell me about it.”
When he saw the indifferent expression on his nephew’s face, Wen Cheng began to panic. He knew that Jian Yuncheng had the hardest heart amongst all his nephews.
“Yuncheng, did you initiate the lawsuit?” Wen Cheng asked cautiously.
“Yep,” Jian Yunsheng responded.
Upon hearing this, Cai Qinyue gritted her teeth. Then she asked, “Yuncheng… How can you…”
As she said this, she received an icy glare from Wen Cheng.
As she realized that her husband was angry, Cai Qinyue could only swallow back the rest of her words.
Wen Cheng sincerely apologized to Jian Yuncheng: “Yuncheng, I know my daughter did the wrong thing. Therefore, I brought her here to apologize to your mother.”
Jian Yuncheng looked at Wen Cheng with cold eyes. Then, he directed his gaze over to Wen Ruo.
Wen Ruo hung her head and did not dare to meet Jian Yuncheng’s eyes.
“Well cousin, what did you say to your father?” Jian Yuncheng asked. His voice was cold and oppressive.
Upon hearing this question, Cai Qinyue explained the situation for her daughter: “She’s just been really busy with her work lately. That’s why she made the wrong decision. Otherwise, she would have never used your mother’s designs.”
“That’s the explanation you used?” Jian Yuncheng asked Wen Ruo.
Wen Ruo was frightened by Jian Yuncheng’s tone. She attempted to defend herself in a weak voice: “Cousin, I… I know I did the wrong thing… I made a mistake… Furthermore, I’m now aware of my mistake. Please give me another chance…”
Jian Yuncheng remained unmoved: “How old are you?”
Wen Ruo: “I’m… Nineteen.”
Jian Yuncheng: “Then you’re an adult. You should be responsible for your own actions.”
Wen Ruo: “Cousin… I… I know I’m wrong… I’m willing to accept punishment but I…”
Jian Yuncheng: “But you don’t want to ruin your reputation? But you don’t want to be spat on and cursed at? But you don’t want your company to be in ruins? But you don’t want to leave XDL?”
Jian Yuncheng listed Wen Ruo’s thoughts, one by one.
Wen Ruo’s head hung even lower.
Jian Yuncheng: “Well, without any of those things, would that really be a punishment?”
Cai Qinyue hurriedly attempted to defend her daughter: “Yuncheng, she’s your cousin. Can you really bear to see her future in ruins?”
Jian Yuncheng: “Yep.”
There was no hesitation or pain in his reply.
Jian Yuncheng’s heart was as cold as stone.
Jian Yuncheng’s reply made Cai Qinyue speechless.
Any other time, she would have already argued with Jian Yuncheng. However, she needed Jian Yuncheng to help them right now. As a result, she had to restrain her actions and speech.
And thus, Cai Qinyue held back her displeasure and continued to plead with Jian Yuncheng: “Yuncheng, my daughter really knows that she did something wrong.”
Jian Yuncheng: “Well, if she knows that, then she should admit all of her mistakes. She shouldn’t just mention half of it.”
It appeared as though Jian Yuncheng knew everything already.
Upon hearing this, Wen Ruo became even more nervous.
Wen Cheng expressed his confusion: “What do you mean by half of it?”
