The wind in the alley was strong, so the moment Huo Yao saw Old Madam Yang standing there shivering from the cold wind, she frowned before she told Chen Ming to stop the car.
After getting off the car, Huo Yao took off her down jacket as she walked over and placed it on Old Madam Yang when she came close to her. “It’s cold outside. Didn’t I tell you to wait at home?”
Old Madam Yang’s lips were slightly blue, so Huo Yao felt worried. She sighed before holding her grandmother’s wrist to examine her pulse. After confirming her grandmother was fine, Huo Yao finally heaved a sigh of relief.
Old Madam Yang held Huo Yao’s hand and smiled. “I only came out for two minutes, and it isn’t that cold. You should put your coat back on so that you don’t catch a cold.”
She wanted to take off the down jacket and return it to Huo Yao, but Huo Yao made her keep it on. “I am perfectly healthy, so I won’t catch a cold.”
Since Old Madam Yang couldn’t convince her otherwise, she dropped it.
Huo Yulin had already taken their suitcases and bags out of the car. After Chen Ming closed the boot, he glanced at the stuff on the ground and said softly to Huo Yulin, “Young Master Yulin, why don’t you let me bring this stuff in? It’s hard for you to carry so much stuff…”
In reality, the car was able to enter the alley. Since Huo Yao had already gotten off the car, Huo Yulin decided to get off as well. He waved his hand at Chen Ming. “It’s fine. You can go back. Thanks.”
Chen Ming stood where he was without budging.
After placing a few boxes of gifts on his trolley case, Huo Yulin turned his head and realized that Chen Ming was still there.
Just as he was about to speak, Chen Ming said, “Young Master Yulin, I heard you saying to Miss Huo that you want me to pick you up for your trip back as well.”
Chen Ming sounded particularly nervous as though he was afraid he couldn’t get to send them home.
Huo Yulin finally realized what he was talking about and replied. “It’s fine. Uncle Changfeng is quite busy lately, so you should go back to help him.”
Chen Ming glanced at Huo Yao and promptly said, “No, he’s fine actually. The chief steward has all the time in the world. He just wants me to stay with you and Miss Huo.”
Huo Yulin’s lips twitched, but he did not insist. “In that case, thanks, Uncle Chen.” He paused before he added. “I don’t want my little sister to know about the family. She doesn’t know anything about our background yet. She is very young and doesn’t have any life experience, so I don’t want to scare her.”
Chen Ming touched his nose. He felt that Miss Huo didn’t look like the timid sort at all. Since Young Master Yulin insisted, he nodded and said, “Got it.”
Huo Yulin waved at him before pulling their luggage towards the house.
Chen Ming stood where he was as he gazed at them from behind sadly.
From the looks of it, it would be quite challenging if the chief steward wanted to pull Miss Huo into the family circle.
Judging from what Young Master Yulin said, he clearly didn’t want his little sister to know about the family.
Chen Ming sighed before driving off.

On their way, Huo Yao introduced Huo Yulin to Old Madam Yang before they reached home.
“Oh yes. Yu is back too,” said Old Madam Yang after taking a few steps into the yard.
The moment Huo Yao heard her grandmother saying his name so endearingly, her face twitched. “Min Yu?”
Old Madam Yang nodded and replied. “Uh huh.”
Huo Yulin narrowed his eyes as he followed behind them. Was he here?
Judging from the way Old Madam Yang spoke about him, they seemed to be mighty close.
