Lin Shuwen could sense He Xiaoman’s disbelief, so he took out his phone and called the office right in front of her.
“Take a picture of the documents in my drawer and send it to me.”
He quickly hung up when he was done giving the instruction.
“I will show you once and for all whether Lu Corporation is capable of qualifying for the bidding or not,” said Lin Shuwen frostily.
He Xiaoman did not know what had come over her. Despite her previous confidence, she could not help feeling anxious now.
No way.
Lu Corporation must have made the cut. She was absolutely certain that they could qualify for the bid.
Before long, Lin Shuwen’s phone pinged a few times and he turned it on unhurriedly. He expanded the picture that his subordinate had just sent before handing the phone to He Xiaoman.
“Have a look. This is the truth behind your wonderful Lu Corporation.”
He Xiaoman’s eyes landed on Lin Shuwen’s phone. For a second, she did not dare to look at it. She had always stayed out of Lu Corporation’s matters and simply knew that it was doing well.
Despite the inexplicable anxiety in her heart, she took his phone and looked at the image.
Lin Shuwen placed his hands behind his back and said, “Don’t worry. Take your time. There is more than one picture in there. If you scroll down, there are still seven to eight images below.”
He Xiaoman took the phone from him.
She saw one or two instances of when the company evaded taxes, a list of times when it broke the law, the company’s asset evaluation, and its loan situation. Her face instantly turned ghastly pale.
He Xiaoman did not dare to continue looking at the rest of the photos. She was afraid that the problems listed below would only get worse than the ones on the first page.
Considering the amount of embezzlement going on in Lu Corporation, it was impossible for them to qualify to bid for the government projects.
Lin Shuwen smiled when he saw He Xiaoman’s expression. “What do you think? Do you still think highly of Lu Corporation now?”
He Xiaoman took a step back instinctively. She was incapable of accepting the truth. “Impossible. How could this happen?”
Lin Shuwen pulled the phone from He Xiaoman’s hand and shut it before placing it in his pocket. “This is the outcome of vetting your company. Anyone with brains would know whether the company had any chance of winning the bid, but you insisted on making trouble.”
He Xiaoman’s mind was in utter chaos. All her self-righteousness instantly dissipated.
Perhaps they had misunderstood the true meaning behind the vetting process.
Lin Shuwen felt he did not make himself clear enough, so he added. “To be honest, Lu Corporation only got the chance to get fast-track vetting because of Miss Huo. If not for her, you wouldn’t have gotten shortlisted for vetting at all.”
He Xiaoman stumbled yet again and was genuinely shocked to hear this.
Lin Shuwen suppressed his coldness and walked up in front of Huo Yao and explained somewhat apologetically. “I am so sorry. I wanted to do Lu Hongwen a favor when I realized that he was your foster father. But I ended up causing so much trouble.”
Since Huo Yao was present, Lin Shuwen was keenly aware that he had to explain the situation to her.
Huo Yao obviously knew why Lin Shuwen wanted to do her this favor.
She was treating Fang Chen’s illness, so Lin Shuwen wanted to repay the favor, but he had failed to realize she was estranged from her foster family.
No wonder He Xiaoman preposterously accused her of ruining the company’s chances of winning the bid.
