Gu Chaoyan got startled by Uncle Zhou’s reaction. She had no idea why that was a big fuss.
Zhou Huaijin shrugged nonchalantly. “Don’t worry, Uncle Zhou.”
The words had just been spoken when he turned to Gu Chaoyan with a pair of scorching eyes, and explained. “You must have heard of me mentioning Shadow Door. That is what their chief looks like. That was why Uncle Zhou got excited. But it is alright, fewer people have seen the chief than Lord Huai. It is totally fine if we are out together.”
Then he turned to Uncle Zhou with a warning look.
Uncle Zhou withdrew his look of excitement and then looked at Gu Chaoyan. He now realized that Miss. Gu was more than someone special for Lord Huai.
Instead of saying anything more, he replied. “I will make sure all goes well.”
Zhou Huaijin nodded, then he went out with Gu Chaoyan.
It was Fu Bao who was behind him today. Fu Bao was young and had a smile on his face all the time, unlike Rong Chuxuan and Lin Sen. Next to Gu Chaoyan were Sword One and Qing.
No one was paying attention to this gang.
Gu Chaoyan was glad to be out on the street. She had not had the time to walk through the city after she ended up in this place.
“There is a silk store ahead of us.” Zhou Huaijin reminded her.
“Okay, let’s go and take a look at it.” Gu Chaoyan replied. She had not paid much attention to her outfits, just because she was not quite satisfied with her current shape. However, she was willing to cooperate with Zhou Huaijin who was happy to help her.
The silk store was one of the top ones in the whole city.
There were all kinds of silk and garments placed on the shelves.
Seeing the gang entering the store, the salesboy greeted them. “Miss, are you here to make clothes or buy clothes?” He was rather polite.
“I am buying clothes.” Gu Chaoyan thought for a while and replied. She was worried that she would lose some more weight before the clothes were done. It would be a waste.
The salesboy guided the girls to the shelves. Gu Chaoyan thought for a while and said, “Qing, Sword One, pick the ones you like too. I have money now.”
The words had just been spoken and Sword One and Qing had not yet answered, when a sharp and ironic voice arose from close by. “Isn’t this the eldest Miss of the Gu Family? What are you doing here at Jinxiu Pavilion? Are you able to afford the clothes here? Oh man, even the trash are here trying to get something out of this place.”
Gu Chaoyan turned to the direction of the voice. Then she saw Huo Wei who was walking towards her openly.
She frowned slightly. Damn Huo Wei. It seemed that she needed some more lessons than the one she got back at her own home. She dared to offend her.
“Even a girl like you is here, why not me?” Gu Chaoyan answered coldly, having no intention to speak with her.
She turned around and looked at the clothes.
The clothes here were of high quality. Otherwise Zhou Huaijin would not insist that she should come here for clothes shopping.
“I want this one.” Gu Chaoyan spotted a green color-dress and decided to give it to Qing, so she spoke.
The salesboy was about to fetch it when Huo Wei came to her and grabbed the dress, saying, “I want this one too, I am paying ten more yuan for this.”
