Si Mobai agreed indulgently, “Alright.”
Xi Jin watched as Tu Xiupei’s face turned pale, and a spark of anger raged across on his previously gentle and amiable face. “Master Si, you are being over—”
Si Mobai interrupted him coldly, “The Bailan Alliance awaits Crown Prince Xi’s coming as our guest.”
Hearing this, Xi Jin, Shen Yunya, and Jiang Ying instinctively lifted their heads to stare at Si Mobai. Their facial expressions changed subtly.
“You belong to the Bailan Alliance?” Jiang Ying could not stop himself from asking.
The Bailan Alliance had originally been called the Yunyi Alliance, its name was changed a few months ago. However, the powerful group had a thousand-year history in Xuantian Continent, and the strength of its influence could hardly be matched by any other country.
The only power that could compete with this alliance was the Fengyun Alliance, and the two alliances were rivals. Even after thousands of years of antagonism, it was never made clear which was the stronger party.
These two alliances were the overlords of the continent. If they stomped their feet, the entire Xuantian Continent would be shaken.
Tu Xiupei, however, was not impressed by this. To her, the Bailan Alliance was nothing but a small sect. How could it compare with the Dongxuan Nation of Xuantian Continent, what a joke!
“Even if you are the Wargod from South Winds Nation, you should know that Brother Jin is not only the Supremacy but also the Crown Prince of Dongshu Nation. The way you are speaking to Brother Jin may bring trouble and destruction down upon the South Winds Nation.”
Xi Jin pulled her close to him and spoke solemnly, “Dai’er, don’t speak carelessly.”
The Bailan Alliance represented an ultimate supreme power, it was not something the Dongshu Nation could match up to.
Feng Tianlan frowned. When did the Xuantian Continent have the Bailan Alliance? How had she never heard of it? Was it a new alliance formed in the past year? But if this was an emerging power, Brother Jin and the Supremacy would not be so wary of it.
She had to find a chance to ask Mobai what this was all about.
Tu Xiupei was very unhappy at getting publicly reprimanded. She tugged at Xi Jin’s sleeve and spoke in an injured voice as if she had been wronged, “Brother Jin, what is there to fear from such a tiny sect? Can you really not bear to see me getting bullied by anyone?”
“Dai’er.” Xi Jin lowered his head to see Tu Xiupei pulling his sleeves and thought about how Dai’er used to pull on his sleeve with one hand while pointing to fruits in the trees with the other. She had said, “Brother Jin, I want to eat that fruit. Can’t you use some spiritual force to climb and help me get it?”
“Brother Jin.” Tu Xiupei pouted now, with tears glistening in her eyes, tugging at his sleeve with one hand.
When Xi Jin saw her behaving like this, he lowered his head to glance at her hand in suspicion. Although it was the same habit she displayed, he felt somewhat uncomfortable. Dai’er would never whine or force him to suppress others with his status and power.
Realizing that Xi Jin was becoming suspicious and even stretched out his hand to push her away, Shen Yunya quickly said, “Brother Jin, Elder Sister has grown up with the headmaster since she was young and developed a close father-daughter relationship with him. She must be so angry now that it has made her momentarily irrational. You know that Elder Sister lost both her parents when she was young, so she truly values her family.”
Hearing Shen Yunya’s words, Xi Jin finally decided not to brush Tu Xiupei off and lightly acknowledged her.
Shen Yunya sensed that he had not completely cleared his doubts and quickly added, “Elder Sister has been away for a year, so it’s understandable for her not to remember the changes which have happened on Xuantian Continent, as well as the changing of the Fengyun Allice to the Bailan Alliance. Also, in her heart, she can’t think of anything that could compare with Brother Jin.”
“I am sorry, Brother Jin. I just don’t want anyone to ridicule my master like this.” Seeing this, Tu Xiupei knew that she was in trouble. She quickly lowered her head, softened her attitude, and apologized meekly.
Xi Jin finally acknowledged with a gentle grunt and gently reminded Tu Xiupei, “Don’t say such things in the future, or you will offend a lot of people.”
If she had spoken the words that she had said just now in the Xuantian Continent, it would have cost her Dai’er’s life.
