Xue Meng's joy knew no bounds in that moment. His heavy frame crashed against Jin Wang's more than a dozen times in as many seconds.
The saber hummed with every stroke as three different laws were combined together to deadly efficiency. Everything it touched was broken into little pieces regardless of the material.
The ground turned to dust and even the air cracked and disintegrated, creating a vacuum in its place.
But Jin Wang wasn't using a weapon nor any laws in this fight. Each of his movements was so precise that no matter how fast Xue Meng moved, he was still just one step ahead of him.
But the effect it was having on his body was obvious. Jin Wang's breathing became shallow and his clothes were stained with blood even without any obvious wounds. He was sweating blood.
And when Xue Meng did get close Jin Wang used an unknown palm technique to redirect his attacks with minimal effort.
At the end of his rope Jin Wang tried to talk some sense into Xue Meng once again, "WILL YOU LISTEN TO ME?! STOP ATTACKING FOR JUST ONE MINU-" but didn't even get to finish his sentence.
Xue Meng saw an opening and in the middle of his strike, he somehow managed to change the saber's direction just before it landed to cut towards Jin Wang.
Unfortunately, the cost of forcefully canceling a move before it was executed to completion was nothing to scoff at. All the pent-up energy was redirected back towards his body and exploded inwardly.
Blood poured out of Xue Meng's eyes and nostrils but he didn't falter even for a moment and put even more strength behind the saber that was going straight towards Jin Wang's abdomen.
Jin Wang's eyes opened wide in disbelief but that didn't stop him from countering. At first he tried to sidestep again but realized that they were still underground and his back was against a wall of subterranean stone. There was nowhere left for him to escape to.
Realizing there was no other choice, both his hands made a series of strange signs before impacting against one another forcefully. Jin Wang bit his tongue and threw up a couple of droplets of vital blood on his hands.
Xue Meng saw his strange movements and started grinning.
"YOU CAN'T KEEP RUNNING! YOU MUST FIGHT NOW!"
Just then the saber reached Jin Wang's body. As with everything else his shirt turned to dust upon coming into contact with the blade before it pierced through the first layer of skin.
"We'll see about that!"
Jin Wang unclasped his palms that were glowing red with various symbols. Xue Meng's brow furrowed upon sensing the energy from it but instead of attacking head-on, Jin Wang instead tapped his own chest.
Xue Meng's eyes opened wide, "Wha-"
Jin Wang's lips arched into a sly smile. The resistance Xue Meng was feeling upon cutting into Jin Wang's skin fade and then so did Jin Wang himself.
It looked like he turned into a hologram and simply phased through the dirt and rocks surrounding them.
*BOOOOOM*
The saber tore into the earth while Xue Meng's body shot in the opposite direction like a shooting star due to the backlash. He went through more than 750 meters of solid ground before exiting the earth entirely.
*BOOOM*
With another explosion, Xue Meng impacted against the side of the pit, surrounded by muddy water and blood.
He had made enough of a ruckus to attract most of the nearby undead creatures that swiftly made their way towards him. Upon arriving at the site they saw an unconscious bloody man. Some of the smaller less intelligent ones rushed towards him without giving it a second thought.
But when they got within five meters of him their bodies froze. Their mouths foamed and all of them just went limp without a warning. The larger undead backed away and chose to keep it that way to observe before making a move.
The few liters of blood that had escaped from Xue Meng's body started moving back of its own volition and entered through the open wounds. His body jerked which startled even the undead.
He slowly stood up, pulling himself out of the ditch. Cracking his neck Xue Meng extended his hand and with a slight tremor, the saber shot out of the same hole he had just exited from and landed in his palm.
He sheathed it again before letting out a deep breath. His disfigured face popped back to its original shape.
"Tsk tsk, I didn't think he would be so adamant about running away. I couldn't even get him to attack once but…at least now I know what he looks like. You can only run for so long before I lose my patience and take it out on your friends," he finished with a bloody spit.
None of the undead dared to make a single sound meanwhile Xue Meng didn't even register their presence.
He looked around until his gaze locked in a specific direction.
"Guess I'll go ask them to find more about him."
He pushed lightly against the ground before shooting straight up into the sea of dark clouds.
