The Rise of Otaku Chapter 57

Chapter 57 - Knight's Mount House

Chapter 57 Knight’s Mount House

Because the design of the three parties’ uniforms was very delicate, it was extremely popular amongst Cosers’ community. Therefore the increasingly fierce three parties’ conflict in the game began to spread to the animation, game, and comic convention. There were often Cosers from both sides “drew swords” at each other in the convention. And now there was a spicy party, it would only make the competition between Cosers even more fierce.

However, the original creator Zhou Yu was feeling gloomy at home.

The pub requested by Jack Mouse was not expensive. It was enough to build a pub if he saved Moe Coins for two weeks. This made Zhou Yu very happy. There was going to be another building in Mini Luhua Village.

After Beaver and his senior brother built it up, Zhou Yu found that the pub was surprisingly big. It was not a kind of pub that could be managed by Jack alone. When Jack happily entered the pub, Zhou Yu carefully checked the state of the building. The result was: Luhua pub, the owner – Jack, no services could be provided at the moment.

It was not easy to have a building that was used to serve outsiders. However, it was no damn use at the moment. Of course, anyone would be feeling gloomy because of this. The reason why it couldn’t provide services was the shortage of staff. In the past, when a building was built, it was usually possible to recruit employees directly from the building. Unexpectedly, this pub was different and he had to search employees in person.

So the pub was opened, but it could not provide any services. To serve customers, there needed to be waitresses. To refer jobs, there needed to be Quest Agents, he couldn’t even hire any bartenders or chefs. He had to search them personally one by one. Jack alone had only one service he could offer, which was to train adventurers’ mounts.

Jack’s adventure class was a holy knight.

Even though Zhou Yu was feeling gloomy, he could only accept reality. Anyway, just take it slowly. There would be a day when he would be able to unlock all the services of the pub. What Zhou Yu was curious at the moment was the so-called training adventurers’ mounts? Could it be that Jack could train some wild creatures of the ACG world?

However, Jack said, “I’m only responsible for the training and renting them to adventurers in the pub in the future. It is your job to get those mounts.”

‘Dammnit, how do I know where I can get those mounts?’

A week later, this problem was finally solved. After using the Gashapon machine, in addition to the common woods and ores, he received another strange object – a mount’s egg.

If it weren’t for the words “an unknown mount’s egg” that was floating in the air, Zhou Yu would have thought that he was holding an ordinary chicken egg in his hand. Because it looked too similar. Looking at it under the sun, there was a small black spot. It was a fertilized egg!

Could this breed an adventurer’s mount?

Jack was so excited that, although the egg was as big as a monster to him, he picked it up and ran back to the pub. The pub was very large. It was comparable to The Taoist Temple. And it was a Chinese quadrangle structure. The front hall was the place to serve adventurers. The buildings on both sides were the accommodations, while the back hall was the kitchen, staff dormitory, and other functional rooms.

In the middle of the courtyard of the pub, there was a large house with a sign on the door saying “Jack’s Mount Hatching House”.  It seemed to be the place for hatching eggs.

After Jack put the egg in the hatching house, he closed the door immediately. Saying that it was a business secret, he even refused to let Zhou Yu have a look inside the hatching house.

Oh well, as long as it could be hatched safely.

Originally, Zhou Yu thought that it would take a long time to hatch the egg. It would be, at least, one month. However, the rules of the ACG world was really strange. In the next morning, Zhou Yu heard tender chirping noises coming from mini Luhua Village. When he got out to check it, a baby chicken appeared in the pub.

It really was a chicken!

Whether it was in the eyes of the ACG world or the eyes of reality, all he saw was a chicken ‘Damnit, where is the mount that was promised?’ ‘Don’t tell me that adventures will have to ride chickens to defeat their enemies…’ Actually, although the little Moe chick was just born, it was already half as tall as Jack. When it grew up to be a chicken, it could indeed be ridden into battle.

Jack looked very happy. His beloved mount was said to have been eaten by a dragon. Now the appearance of the little Moe chick could soothe his sadness slightly. Jack also gave it the name of his original mount “Diandian”. He hoped that the spirit of his mount would last this way.

Diandian curiously observed the surrounding environment. The height limitation made it unable to escape from the “high wall” of the pub. So it could only stay in the small yard obediently.

But Zhou Yu was still worried because the growth rate of chicks was often shocking. If it was kept in the pub all the time, it would jump out without spending much effort in less than a month. At that time, it would be nightmares for all other buildings. It would be like a giant breaking into a small town, destroying everything on its way.

Regarding this question, Jack answered, “Please rest assured that when Diandian grows up, it will be arranged to live outside. Making a chicken house should not be difficult for the craftsmen in the village, right?”

That would not be a problem at all.

After school, the children came to play in Zhou Yu’s yard on time. Then they saw brother Yu was assembling a pile of wooden timbers. The carpenter beaver’s principle was that nails must not be used in his work. The ends of each piece of the timbers had been meticulously designed, so that they could be connected together seamlessly. It was just a regular chicken house. However, it had been designed like a palace.

Soon after, a small wooden house that was roughly one meter high, two meters wide and three meters long appeared in the corner of Zhou Yu’s yard. After confirming that there was no problem with splicing everywhere, the carpenter beaver nodded and finished the inspection.

Children thought that it was a new building model. They all came to have a look at it one by one, but then they saw a sign hanging at the door of the wooden house with the words “Knight’s Mount House” written on it.

“Brother Yu, it’s just a chicken house. I thought you were going to build the Great Wall.”

The Little Rat was deadly straightforward. But soon he found that there were no small animals in the yard, so he continued to ask, “Brother Yu, do you want to raise chickens or ducks? With just your farming skill, it’s better to buy some full-grown animals directly. Otherwise, many babies would die in your hand.”

Zhou Yu could not get rid of his reputation of being “a demonic vegetable abuser”, after all the vegetables, that he had planted in the last autumn, died out. Even though the vegetables he planted later on in the winter actually grew quite well. However, who had seen a small vegetable field with more than a dozen kinds of vegetables? Besides, it was not even potted vegetables.

He could not even grow plants properly, let along raise animals. Did he really think that raising animals would be easy?

“Rat, Rat, come here quickly. There’s a small chick in Brother Yu’s flower house!”

Having found Diandian in the flower greenhouse, some kids began to cheer loudly. If it weren’t for Jack, who was constantly trying to calm Diandian down, Diandian would’ve been scared by them.

The little chick was too small. If he gave it to those children to play, it might not be able to survive. Therefore, Zhou Yu refused to let them get into the flower greenhouse. With Jack, Diandian’s safety would not be a problem. He just needed to wait until it grew a little bit bigger and then let it out.

After fishing with Diandian’s accommodation, Zhou Yu went out to the food re-spawning point to collect some food for Diandian. Diandian was too small to be able to find its own food. It would not be able to digest rice as well. It could only rely on the mysterious food that no one knew what the ingredients were.

Zhou Yu could only wish that it could grow up healthily and safely.
