Dissatisfaction was written across Mu Siyin’s face. “How am I a child! I’m already twenty, uncle!”
Shi Beiyu’s face turned sour the moment he heard Mu Siyin call him an uncle.
It did not sound that bad, but he always felt a generation gap between him and Mu Siyin whenever she called him uncle. That was why…
He suddenly hugged Mu Siyin closer to him and leaned towards her ear flirtatiously. His coarse voice said, “I won’t go easy on you tonight if you call me an uncle one more time.”
Mu Siyin’s face flushed as she looked at Shi Beiyu with embarrassment. It did not take long for her embarrassment to turn into frustration. “Y-you really are…”
“Be good. I’ll get someone to make you some snow pear and rock sugar dessert, okay?” Shi Beiyu raised his eyebrow.
“You tyrant!” Mu Siyin muttered. She then tore away from Shi Beiyu’s embrace and sat on the sofa instead.
Shi Beiyu chuckled and called a servant over with a wave of his hand. After giving his orders, he personally went to pour Mu Siyin a cup of water and took out her pills, placing them neatly in front of her.
“Take your pills…”
Mu Siyin’s forehead creased when she saw all those pills.
“The water is a little too warm.”
With his eyebrows raised, Shi Beiyu got up and poured her a colder cup of water.
“It’s fine now.”
The crease on Mu Siyin’s forehead deepened.
“Be good. We’ll go upstairs after you eat that.”
Mu Siyin tried to fight back her tears. First, she had to take an injection, and now, she had to take the pills. Why was falling sick so troublesome?
“Do you want me to feed you?”
“It’s fine. I can do it myself.”
Mu Siyin lifted the teacup and poured all the pills into her mouth in one go. Then, she drank a mouthful of water before she swallowed them miserably.
Shi Beiyu lifted his gorgeous brows as astonishment filled his eyes.
He had expected Mu Siyin to eat the pills one by one, but who knew that she would eat them all in one go?
Mu Siyin had to take two full sips of water until the bitterness in her mouth faded away.
“Okay, I’m done now!”
She placed down the cup as if she had gotten rid of a thousand-pound suitcase.
Shi Beiyu patted her head and complimented her like she were a child. Whispering, he said, “You did well. Now, let’s go upstairs.”
Mu Siyin frowned. “What about my snow pear dessert?”
“I’ll get them to send it upstairs.”
Upon saying so, Shi Beiyu impatiently carried Mu Siyin in his arms and headed upstairs.
As Mu Siyin looked at Shi Beiyu’s flawless side profile, her heart thumped rapidly against her chest. She wondered how a perfect man like him existed in this world.
“Do I look good?”
Shi Beiyu suddenly glanced at her sideways.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she blushed when she uttered, “Mmhmm… You do.”
In that instance, Shi Beiyu’s amber-colored eyes glimmer even more.
“You can look all you want in the room.”
Mu Siyin was speechless.
She was just looking at his face. Did they need to go to the room to do that? That was all she wanted to look at.
Shi Beiyu had just placed Mu Siyin at the side of the bed when someone knocked on their door. “Young Master.”
Shi Beiyu turned and walked to the door, where he received the snow pear stew. After that, he made his way back to the bedside and placed it in front of Mu Siyin. “Give it a taste.”
Mu Siyin picked up the dessert happily. “This is exactly how a snow pear and rock sugar dessert should taste like. How different could it be?”
Seeing how excited she was, Shi Beiyu could not help but ask, “Do you like snow pear and rock sugar dessert so much?”
Mu Siyin’s gaze froze for a while before she nodded. “Yeah. I vaguely remember my mother making me this whenever I fell sick as a child. I think of her whenever I drink it.”
A complicated look flashed across Shi Beiyu’s face when he heard this. “You… What else do you remember about your mother?”
Mu Siyin squinted her eyes as she gave it a thought. She then looked at him and gave a frank reply, “I got into a car accident when I was eight. Since then, I’ve forgotten many things…”
