“Yan Su, you don’t even recognize my number anymore?” a hoarse voice said over the receiver. She could tell that he was angry. “I’m your ex-boyfriend.”
“…”
Yan Su was stressed out. Did he have to emphasize the fact that he was her ex?
She yawned and tried to sound as tired as possible. “It’s so late… what are you calling me for? Don’t you have to sleep?”
“How can I sleep?’ Mo Liuxi said weakly. “I have a fever.”
Yan Su sat up and stroked her long hair. “Have you measured your body temperature?”
“Not yet, but I’m feeling all weak and my body is very warm.” Mo Liuxi sounded a little breathless over the phone. “I’m sure I have a fever.”
“I thought you had medication?” Yan Su wasn’t feeling sleepy anymore. “Do you want me to call an ambulance?”
“I know how to call the ambulance myself.” Mo Liuxi coughed. “I want you to come over and take care of me. Pour me water and everything.”
“…”
Would that help him get better?
“Don’t misread this, I don’t want you around,” Mo Liuxi said. “I’m not like you. I don’t have a team following me around and I don’t even have an assistant. I can’t even call the production crew over. I really shouldn’t have asked but you were the reason why I’m ill. My room number is 302.”
He hung up before Yan Su could get in a single word.
She looked at the time; it was four in the morning.
Jiaojiao had a long day and she couldn’t bear to disturb her. She called the front desk and asked for an antipyretic and a cold compress.
Luckily the hotel was well-equipped. Yan Su walked over and knocked on the door. A minute later, the door opened, and Mo Liuxi was standing in the doorway. His handsome face was flushed red, his breathing ragged and his lips chapped. He glared at her and said, “What took you so long? Are you trying to get me killed and get my inheritance?”
Yan Su, “…”
He was seriously ill.
“I’m not your wife. How will I benefit from killing you?” She was speechless.
“Don’t change the topic.” Mo Liuxi leaned against the wall and panted.
It was the first time she saw him so weak and sick. She sighed. She couldn’t bear to watch him suffer like this so she gave him the medication. “I asked for some medication from the front desk. Why don’t you go to the hospital? What if you become a retard from the fever?”
“Come in, don’t stand at the door.” Mo Liuxi pulled her in before climbing into his bed. He laid down and closed his eyes. His lashes were long, and his cheeks were red from the fever.
He looked weak as a boy and she suddenly had the urge to take care of him.
Yan Su felt pathetic at the moment. She had completely let go of all her grievances against him for all the mean things he had previously said to her.
He was in this state because of her though.
Yan Su sighed and approached him; she put her hand on his forehead to feel his temperature. She felt that he was burning, so she grabbed a warm towel to wipe his face and neck. She then put a cold compress on his forehead before she poured a glass of warm water for him to have his medication.
“I don’t have the strength…” Mo Liuxi said weakly. He could barely open his eyes.
Yan Su thought about how everyone was the same when they were ill, no matter how they were normally.
She had to support his head and feed him the medication with the water.
Mo Liuxi leaned against her chest. She was wearing her pajamas and he could tell that she was wearing a bra, but her breasts felt hard. It wasn’t as soft as before, and she had a soft pleasant scent around her. It smelt like milk.
He was uninhibited at that moment, the fever and the medication had made him groggy. He asked, “Why are your breasts so hard?”
