The next day, Tang Hao went to class as usual.
The bell rang around noon, and the students swarmed out of their classrooms.
Tang Hao was among the crowd. He was walking together with Cao Fei and the others toward the plaza when his phone started ringing.
The call was from General Bai.
“What’s up, Ol’ Bai?” Tang Hao answered the call.
“Comrade Tang Hao, I’d like to task you with an honorable mission,” General Bai said very seriously.
“What mission is it?” Tang Hao was surprised.
“I wouldn’t have asked you if it was just a normal mission. This one’s a little peculiar. It’s related to the operation last time,” General Bai said.
Tang Hao thought for a bit and understood what he meant.
Operation Witch Hunter, which involved eliminating the elites of thirteen major European vampire and werewolf clans, was a resounding success. However, they were not completely wiped out.
Earlier, Tang Hao was busy with his term exams, while the Taoist masters were involved in the operation in other cities. Was it finally time to rid those clans once and for all?
“We cannot let the thirteen clans survive. Only by striking them at their home base, we can let the world know that Huaxia is not to be challenged.
“I’ve already dispatched some of our people two days ago to scout for information. However, those whelps were alerted, and they gathered their forces.
“The clans’ elites were all wiped out in the last battle, and the survivors aren’t that powerful. It’ll be easy if we pick out the clans one by one, but if they join forces, things are a little trickier.
“Moreover, we are fighting in a foreign country. We’ll need a strong backup.”
Tang Hao nodded. “When are we going?”
“No time better than the present. I’ve already told Comrade Mu to fetch you. She should be arriving soon. I’ve already prepared your flight ticket and documents.”
Tang Hao was immediately dumbstruck. “Now? And you sent her too?”
“Yes! Is there a problem?” General Bai asked.
Tang Hao grimaced. ‘That will be a big problem!’
After ending the call, he could faintly hear the whir of a helicopter propeller from afar.
Tang Hao covered his face. ‘Here we go again…’
Last time, only a small portion of the students who went to the spring outing saw it. Now that the helicopter was going to land in the campus, the ensuing rumors would be a lot more sensational.
The noise of the helicopter became louder and louder. A pitch-black military helicopter was flying toward the university like a falcon.
“What’s that?”
“Oh my god, it’s a military helicopter!”
A commotion spread through the entire university campus as the helicopter flew across the sky.
The students had finished their morning classes and were on their way to lunch. Everyone lifted their heads and looked at the helicopter.
The windows of the academic buildings opened, and many teachers and students stuck their heads out.
Their expressions were all the same — Their mouths and eyes were opened wide, and they could not believe what they were seeing.
When the helicopter swooped across the field, the freshmen in military training and the instructors were all stunned too.
“What? Where did the military helicopter come from?”
“Ah, so the rumors are true after all! Haven’t you heard? There’s a legendary figure in Z University. He gets fetched around by a military helicopter.”
“Wow! Are you for real? That sounds a little too far-fetched!”
“I didn’t believe it at first, but I believe it now! Oh my god, I’m so excited!”
Girls were shrieking everywhere.
Whir! Whir!
The military helicopter descended and eventually landed in the middle of the plaza.
Everyone in the plaza was silent.
Their heads were lifted toward the sky, and their faces carried expressions of utter incredulity.
Cao Fei’s mouth was opened in an O shape, as were his friends’ mouths.
A figure jumped off the helicopter and landed on the ground.
She was a tall and curvaceous young woman dressed in a military uniform and wore a pair of aviator shades. Even so, one could tell that beneath the shades were a pair of beautiful eyes.
Her long, black hair danced in the wind.
Her intimidating presence had stunned everyone.
“It’s her, that long-legged ice queen! She appeared again!”
“Oh my god, she’s so pretty! I wouldn’t have thought that the rumors were true!”
“Since when did the army have such pretty girls? I should’ve enlisted.”
Everyone was talking excitedly in the plaza.
“Where is Tang Hao? She must be looking for him!” Someone shouted.
Everyone turned their heads, and their gazes fell on Tang Hao like knives and swords.
Mu Xintong turned to look at him and started walking toward him.
“Follow me.”
She said coldly when she arrived in front of Tang Hao.
Tang Hao could only nod and follow her into the helicopter.
The helicopter took flight once more and quickly left the scene.
“Damn! Is Brother Hao going to save the world again?” Cao Fei said excitedly.
The commotion in the university did not die down for a very long time.
The two people sat in the helicopter facing each other. No one said a word.
Tang Hao suddenly realized that he could not possibly voice his complaints when looking at that frigid, unyielding face that was like a glacier.
“Well… I’m not going to comment about this time, but next time… can’t you come over in something low profile, like a car?” Tang Hao said.
“This is faster,” Mu Xintong replied.
Tang Hao could not find a retort to that. He shut his mouth and spoke no more.
They arrived at the military base very soon, after which they boarded a jet and flew toward the Capital.
He met up with the Taoist masters at an airbase somewhere in the Capital. There were about twenty of them in total.
After receiving their documents and flight tickets, they rushed to the international airport and flew toward Europe.
It was about eight o’clock at night when they arrived at the airport in Doytesland.
They rode on a tour bus once they got out of the airport. The driver was a cultivator from the Agency whom they had met before.
They arrived at a hotel and met up with the reconnaissance group, which included Taoist Master Qian Ji.
There were about fifty of them in total.
After exchanging some pleasantries, Taoist Master Qian Ji briefed Tang Hao and the others.
“The situation is like this. The thirteen clans are gathered in two big groups; one for the vampires and the other for the werewolves. The whelps are in Doytesland, while the bloodlings are next door, in Farlance,” Taoist Master Qian Ji said.
“The home base of the werewolves are the Sullivans,” Taoist Master Qian Ji said as he pointed on a map, “They’re in an ancient castle here.”
“The Sullivans?”
Tang Hao narrowed his eyes, which flashed scarily.
