“His face is so battered but this is so addictive and exciting!”
“Ling Yun must have beaten him so hard that he is concussed!”
Those who were present were still unable to wrap their heads around the fact that the best fighter in school had just been beaten up by Ling Yun. After the first shriek, Li Lei had not uttered another word as he had fainted due to Ling Yun’s slaps.
Even after Ling Yun stopped his attacks, Li Lei’s swollen head still continued to swing from left to right. His vision was blurred and he was unable to differentiate the people who were right in front of him.
Ling Yun let go of Li Lei’s right arm. Ling Yun believed that at this point, Li Lei was absolutely dazed and confused.
“You were right! You must really understand what it feels like to be beaten up now, right?” Ling Yun cheerfully said.
At first, Ling Yun had only wanted to hurt Li Lei to teach him to be more humble but after Li Lei repeatedly called him names and tried to slap him, Ling Yun decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
“Ah!” Li Lei cried out after a full minute when he finally came back to his senses. He rubbed his eyes and darted towards Ling Yun.
“You are dead!”
Forgetting entirely about mixed martial arts and technique, Li Lei acted on impulse. Seeing Li Lei clumsily stumble towards him, Ling Yun raised his leg to kick him down after glancing at him.
With the power he had now, Ling Yun had to control his strength. Otherwise, he would have crippled Li Lei if he used his full power.
Ling Yun then stuck out his foot, stepped on Li Lei’s chest and said, “Child, stop cursing and swearing. If you want to find trouble, think about your own abilities first as there are people who you can’t beat.” He then turned and walked off without a care for the shocked crowd.
If people don’t bother me, I won’t bother them. But if they do, I will show no mercy!
Tu Gang had wanted to hit his head with a bottle, so he hit him till he bled.
Li Lei had wanted to slap him in the face, so he did it back to him!
In Ling Yun’s eyes, these people were so insignificant. If only his abilities were so strong to the extent that he could break the law, then they would have died for bothering him.
People would not use their time to look for ants on the floor to kill them but will only do so when the ants crawl onto them.
To Ling Yun, people like Tu Gang and Li Lei were just ants that had crawled onto him.
Cheng Zhiye stared at Ling Yun from behind with stunned and confused eyes.
Ling Yun had stepped on Wei Tiangan and slapped Jia Meng in the hostel mainly because of Cao Shanshan agitating him.
Yet, why did Ling Yun Gou Junfa or did he trash Li Lei in front of so many people? There was only one explanation, and that was: Ling Yun had changed and was no longer the loser that everyone picked on.
Thinking about it, Cheng Zhiye felt lucky that he had never picked on Ling Yun, if not, he would have ended up like Gou Junfa and Li Lei.
Returning back to his room, he met up with Chai Hanlin to have breakfast together before going to the Grade 12 Class 6 classroom.
Ling Yun had bashed up Li Lei and slapped him twenty times on the face! Word traveled fast and was often met with shock but with the old news about Gou Junfa, people were becoming more accustomed to such news. Having fought the biggest bully in school, it wasn’t too surprising for Ling Yun to be able to beat someone with some martial arts ability.
What was even more surprising than Ling Yun beating Li Lei was the news about the drastic changes of the school beauty, Cao Shanshan. Today, she woke up half an hour earlier and the students saw three changes:
Firstly, the girl who had never worn a hat was wearing a snow white knitted cap, making her seem young and innocent.
Secondly, she had never worn makeup in school but today, she had light makeup on which made her beautiful face seem even more radiant.
Lastly, the girl who always had a branded bag on her was carrying a cheap and unbranded handbag today.
The entire student population was discussing this situation and gossiping about her. What happened to our school beauty?
Unsure if it was on purpose, they wondered why Cao Shanshan was doing this? Who was she wearing makeup and a hat for? Moreover, why was she dressing so simply?
Cao Shanshan had never acted rich on purpose and would never lower her standards just to get close to someone. She had her own principles about her dressing and her behavior in public.
All along, she had shown her true self without giving a d*mn about how others viewed her, so what was she doing this for? Or better yet, who was she doing this for?
Zhang Ling, her tablemate and her best friend, was naturally most appalled by her transformation. Then, she turned her head to look at Ling Yun after recalling the conversation she had with Cao Shanshan the previous night.
Amidst the discussion of the students, Zhang Ling smiled mysteriously. “Shanshan, you look so beautiful today!” Zhang Ling couldn’t help but tease her as she turned to look at her. Listening to the comments from others, Cao Shanshan showed discomfort but after hearing Zhang Ling’s words, her gorgeous face turned redder than an apple.
“No…” Cao Shanshan quietly denied but her shy face and her curved lips betrayed her true emotions.
“Is it for tonight’s date?” Zhang Ling whispered into her ear while waiting for a proper explanation.
“Who’s going on a date? Stop spreading rumors…” she replied, embarrassed.
“Alright, alright, it’s not a date. You just want to teach him a lesson, right?”
“If you do not stop talking, don’t blame me for shutting you up!” Cao Shanshan retorted as she had had enough of Zhang Ling’s teasing.
“Later, I’ll have to pass him some revision notes. Do you have any message for him?”
Rolling her eyes, she fished out a stack of English notes from her bag and passed it to Zhang Ling. Pausing for a moment, she carefully reminded, “This is an important compilation of notes. Erm…do not tell him that I passed it to you!”
She became shyer after saying this and was unable to meet Zhang Ling’s eyes.
“Come on! You must have spent a whole night compiling this, right? My English is not very good either, so let’s not give this to Ling Yun and let me keep it first!” Zhang Ling chuckled as she tried to keep the book under her desk.
Knowing that Zhang Ling was taking her notes, she got slightly frustrated and hurriedly uttered, “Okay, I have all these on my computer. Give this to him first and I will send you a copy tonight, alright?”
Seeing her friend get ruffled, Zhang Ling couldn’t help but continue her teasing. Putting up a serious front, she asked, “Shanshan, don’t tell me that you have really fallen for Ling Yun…”
Stunned, Cao Shanshan lowered her blushing face and shook her head while insisting, “Hearing his amazing memorizing ability yesterday, I just feel that if we helped him a little, a miracle might occur…”
Taking in her words, Zhang Ling thought to herself, My dear, seeing the effort you put in to dress up like that, your words must mean the opposite of what you feel!
Agreeing with what Cao Shanshan said, she stopped joking around and inquired, “Not bad, you are the best at English in our school and it is good that you are offering your help. But, why don’t you go to him yourself?”
“Hmph, I’m not going. I still have things to settle with him myself!” Cao Shanshan coldly replied as the scene where she got ignored by Ling Yun replayed in her mind. Her lovely face fell and anger replaced the shyness.
Zhang Ling raised her hand to massage her temples while shaking her head and repeatedly sighing at her friend’s stubbornness.
After the self-study session, Ling Yun continued to sit at his desk and daydream while holding his newly bought English textbook. Wrinkling his brows, he stared at the symbols on the book in confusion. To him, every other subject was easy but English did not come easily to him.
The deceased Ling Yun had always been weak in English and accompanied by the fact that he only received fragments of his memory, Ling Yun was entirely hopeless. How was he going to memorize if he couldn’t even pronounce or read the words?
If he was to start studying now, everyone would think that Mathematics would be his biggest obstacle but on contrary, it was his strongest subject.
Being from Cultivation World, he practiced the heavenly law and thus, he had an extensive knowledge of Math, Science, and Geography. If not, how would he able to calculate the spells, that required advanced Mathematics, or create the incantations?
Hence, out of all the subjects, the one that he was able to handle the best was Mathematics. As for the weakest subject, it was, of course, English.
If Ling Yun was able to use his abilities now, he would have completed his homework easily but the problem was that he couldn’t use divine sense before Qi Cultivation.
“I have no choice but to rely on Lingyu to help me learn the basics”, he silently contemplated.
“Handsome, what are you thinking about? Oh, so you’re learning English! Are you able to understand it?”
Zhang Ling joked as she appeared beside Ling Yun and automatically sat down on Zhang Dong’s seat.
